Lent is Upon Us

The Time has come to step into the dessert,
To lay down all possessions of Earthly being,
Letting go of all the pleasures of man,
And praying to God for his Holy Plan,

Lent is upon is all,
everyone Great and Small,
We need not be saddened by these days,
but pray fervently for inspiring grace,

Blessings be to all who come,
Blessings be Everyone,
Pray for Brother and Sisters everywhere,
Pray for Family and Friends somewhere,
Pray for Those who have nowhere,
Pray for Those who have lead before,
Pray for those who will lead this walk.

Blessings be to everyone.

P.S. Special mention to Maria Felix Christie, Loving Father and Husband, Rest in Peace and you always be in our hearts always.

Song of the Spring

A Flower blooms in the garden,
upon the setting of the Frozen tundra,
The worst is over,
Winter is over,

Buds the flowers of spring throughout the land,
people now can have sun and sand,
spring is upon let everyone know,
no more chilling nights and winter Snow,

love is in the air do not be afraid,
shout it from the mountains,
make every word to be said,
and everything will be alright again,

Spring is the season, to frolic and be happy,
there is no reason, to be feeling crappy,
For the time of joy will be greater yet,
Now foremore from sunrise till sun set,

Let not the eclipse shadow doubt on Lady Spring,
for the light will always envelope her radiance,
Let us be thankful for whatever she brings,
and always be hopeful for what the future holds.

The King Has Returned!

I just recalled Lion King today and was bored enough to actually think back to find out activities that i've lost and not done in a while.
So if this keeps up, looks like im gonna be posting a lot more blogs again as how i did previously.
updates since i've left the blogging society.
Now where do i start.
I've gotten a little more mature, hooked up with my job more seriously, and taken everything down by at least 2 notches.
I've lived a routine for the past 2 months almost consistently and looking at new horizons that i never thought i'd reach at this point in time.
i got a New telephone to celebrate the new year, the Nokia E72 to be exact, and i got a data plan to boot as well.
oh well! looks like im joining the crowd of technofrats without touching the ever so volatile Iphone/Blackberry trend.
I've also made some new friends and reconnected with some older ones, things are actually looking up of late.
Holidays planned, year on track, friends abound, (i've even lost weight up to 4 Kilo's and taken up a new lifestyle)

Now its up to me to show that i can make it during my lenten vow, im still wondering how i can accomplish my vow this year.
Let us see how things goes after this day is over.

A Ray of Hope

There is a little mood i feel at this very moment that makes me want to celebrate Christmas. I've not been feeling the "Christmas Spirit" since the start of Advent and today there was a great Epiphany that is leading me to believe that its all worthwhile.

Somehow everytime i say Christmas now i feel a sense of security and happiness deep within my being and its something i've not felt before today.

I suppose by getting older, you get a little more wiser, but i highly doubt thats the case here, although it may be a contributing factor :)

Oh Well! Wishing Everyone a Blessed Christmas and Wishing You a Happy, and Great New Year as Well! :)

Cheers.

PTSD: Post Technical Support Disorder

PTSD: Post Technical Support Disorder

The Hidden EpidemicBy Brian Briggs

Silicon Valley - That rude technical support person who just told you to "format C: and shove it" may not be the incompetent ass you think she is. Chances are she is suffering from a little known psychological disorder called Post Technical Support Disorder (PTSD). Symptoms of the disorder include: extreme irritability, telephone phobia, night terrors, recurring flashbacks and nausea. In extreme cases victims have suffered from hallucinations, usually about strangling callers with phone cords. PTSD is most common among telephone support personnel, but field support and internal help desk staff are also at risk.
Are you at risk?
Simon Yang who does support for Westlook Software and suffers from PTSD said, "The nightmares were the worst part of it. In the dream I would be on a call and the caller would keep repeating 'I didn't change anything and now it doesn't work' over and over and over. I would wake up screaming."
Help desk manager Kevin Dyer was unaware that most of his staff was suffering from PTSD until he held a special PTSD Awareness Day, "I just thought all my staff was pissed off at the world, you know, some Gen X rebellion thing. I was surprised to discover that 10 out of 11 people on my staff had PTSD. The other guy was just an asshole."
Jennifer Fassihi suffered for seven years before being diagnosed, "People thought I was just bitchy," said Jennifer, "so did I, until I found out it was PTSD. With therapy and medication I can now handle idiotic customers without breaking anything."
PTSD can be diagnosed by a doctor or psychiatrist using a simple questionnaire. A condensed version of this questionnaire is available as a pamphlet, which is being distributed to technology companies in Silicon Valley to raise awareness about the disorder. If you think you or someone you care about may be suffering from PTSD please visit http://www.ncptsd.org or begin drinking heavily.

Some Ppl have the life

There is collegue in my office that works 12 hour shifts for 4 days a week, which totals his hours to 48 hours a week, the rest of them work 10 hours 5 days a week which totals to 50hours.

how is it that working a longer shift gives better hours (avoid traffic inconveniences), better renumerations (bonus 500 allowences), and less hours a week in general.

there are also break moments of 15min, lunch 1 hour, break 15 min, and 30 min break which totals to 2 hours for the 12 hour shift workers.

and for the 10 hour shifts, its 15,1hour,15...
looks like i would like to apply for a longer duration for a better life :P

P.S.
the downside of the 12 hour shifts is that i will have to work at least 1 day of the weekend and my off will be random within the week.
[which i think is beautiful as most office work like banking can be done on days like that :)]

The Moon's Slumber

The Night is Calm as a Desert Sky,
An Angel Prayer is Heard a Cry,
a Hymn is Sung from a Lowly Vessel,
At the Edge of the bed Upon a Tassel,
A Sound Resounds Back an Echo,
A Calm Breeze Which Stills the Heart,
To Beg the Mind to Let Go,
and Accept that Goodbye's the Only Will,
But a Prayer Still Sung out Upon Nigh,
Adamant Still Across the Plain Sky,
Do Not Forsake a Lovers Soul,
For to Break a Love is to Kill the World..
