Alienware M17x

I Just read a review on the Malaysian version of the Alienware M17x 17" Gaming notebook which is so sweet, its bound to be ridden with a lot of eye candies and masterpieces.

The authorised dealer for Alienware in Malaysia though is only DELL, since dell now has ownership since they bought over 'The Name' in Gaming, Notebooks or otherwise.

Specifications can vary from from RM5999 till >RM21K which is absurdly expensive, until you actually check out the items it comes with. everything from quad core, i7, to 8GB high speed memory, raid configuration, 3 Years Insurance and warranty (fully Covered), 64Bit processing and Operating system, SLi Graphics of the latest graphic card, the Screen of Beauty, Customazible logo's and features, fully anodized aluminium case with magnesium, pure bred for cinematic and gaming pleasure.

Heck it even comes with 5.1 Channel Surround and HDMI outpur which is beyond any other notebook computer i know to date besides the nearest competitor which is the Asus G2. Honestly however, The G2 is no where near in the looks department and the name which Alienware has established itself. A Thoroughbred in all departments. Did i mention that it also comes with a PhyX pre-processor just like the "beast" XPS that dell has previously launched, which gives it an additional advantage to run high rate of accuracy in physics engines which is in games and multimedia creation.

Premium Items such as Laser Cut Keys, Backlit Adjustable Colour keyboards, and some accesories to boot, will certainly make this notebook worthy of being the most unique in local markets with its closest rival in the looks department being a MBP. Though it surpases that through brute strength of the processor and rugged looks.

Jumping Ship

Whats develops loyalty, and what develops a sense of insecurity? why would someone defect or take an opposite side in an argument or debate. Why would someone just give up whatever he/she is doing now and just take things over elsewhere.

I have always had a dilemma because i have not set a sense of obligation to my responsibilities, possibly because i never had a something that would make me committed as much as i would have liked it.

Lets see how things go from here on out, and if opportunity can present me a better option.

Peace out.

The Days Cometh

The night covers the velvet sky,
The stars consumed by darkness,
I stand upon and wonder why,
Is the end of days Cometh,

But alas the sky as clear as day,
Wondering how it could be wrong,
For its all nothing but heresay,
And Humanity must be strong,

As for myself i look up the sky,
It feels as though i understand clear,
For everytime i wonder why,
I i quell in a statue state of fear,

A heart is just but a single object,
But capable of many great things,
I should never hold things is regret,
But sometimes the poison stings,

A sky so honest as the sky so blue,
Can still shade its honesty to untrue,
But unlike the sky which passes like wind,
I will persevere with nothing more than past sin,

Great is the world above and below,
How can future be so measly and shallow,
But an epiphany i seek is not in nature,
But in a friend i seek close to my heart.

VMWare Server Roxxor

i just managed to configure and use VMWare Server Version 2.01 and installed Ubuntu Linux 9.04 Server Edition and now i am configuring it to run a simulation fax software to be used and replaced into the office.

its an amazing feat for me because the default for most linux server packages are command line with no GUI, but now i've installed the gnome package for the GUI and updating the last bits whilst installing the software.

Interesting day today. :)

Time and Tide Waits for No Man

Time ceases for no person,
Time marches on and on,
Time does not need a reason,
To watch a child get born,

Time waits for no diseased,
Time waits for no lovers,
Time waits for no comfort,
Time waits for no sorrow,

But time is bountiful to the fortunate,
and yet to some abundance of nothing,
how do we play the game of life,
when uncertainty is all we strive.

Time may wait for no one, but to hold a friend, a family, a cherished one, a loved ones a relative, a companion, a teacher, a mentor, a student, a child, a brother, a sister, a father or a mother is all that matters whilst you have the chance.
Never waste the opportunity to live life with others when you are capable.

When the going gets tough...

This week im mentally exhausted and utterly tired. Not to mention, that im completely broke from all the work i've been conducting in the past 3 weeks. i have paid my bills, taken care of my mom, paid for the car repairs and upgrades, had some "luxury" dinners, and still have more to do by the end of the week.

It's been a trying time for me as i've never done so much work in my life :S

But in the end i know i would just have to raise it to the Lord and Thank him that i at least have friends and people who care about me and are willing to help me when the going gets tough :)

As the saying goes with a little bit of 'rickroll' here:
When the Going Gets Tough, The Tough Gets Going"

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri Al-Mubarak

Tradition is something that i would take into account and to appreciate in this country of Malaysia which I live in. We are united by every creed, colour, race and religion and its really something to be proud of. Like humans we all are, we tend to sometimes go astray and play the accusing game of who did what, but all in, we live in a beautiful society.

Its the same for a computer afficianado to have no segregation when running windows, linux, dos, OSX, Netware, Solaris, or what not that there should be integration between these systems and a network.
(Geek moment here)

I'm Taking this opportunity on wishing all my Muslim friends a very Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri and wishing them well in their celebrations.
Maaf, Zahir & Batin to all and Remember, invite me for the Rendang and Ketupat :)

Monday Blues

It starts....
Today i left a beautiful home on which i live in and have the knowledge that when i get back today, it'll be in shambles (figuratively speaking).
i will be home with no internet line, with a pool of water in my room, plumbing uncertainties, an empty home(for the most part) and living with practically nothing in my hands to work with for some time.
I'm thankful that this coming weekend will prove to be a long awaited break with the long weekend, but before that i would have to endure this week 1st.
I do hope that i will persevere and outdo myself with the challenges that come my way.
Peace out!

Moderation is the Key

Time is something very abstract and it differs from people to people. For some people, time is aplenty and for others its not enough. Sometimes the scheduling that we make could be disastrous and calamity tends to happen. but others it seems that there is just too much time for some menial work.

How do you measure the worth of the time? Is taking time off for yourself a waste of time?

I think if you spend time with something you believe to be good and right, be it alone, with family, colleagues or friends, its all good, just to make sure that you do not neglect your responsibilities that go with it.

Now i feel that managing time is very important, but to micro manage time, is utterly ridiculous.
Think about it and you'll come to realise that not everything needs to be a certain order, but it helps if it does to keep things in balance. learn to adapt and time will never let you down again.

On another note, time is so abstract, therefore, when you have it, even little of it, say "I Love You" to someone or anyone, it will brighten up their day, and maybe even yours. :)

Internet Down for a week!

Next Monday onwards, i wont be participating on my online activities at home for the duration of the week.
This is due to me upgrading my service plan for TM NET Streamyx.
People have been ranting that TM service is rubbish, frequent problems and slow and worst of all the customer service is bad. But i beg to differ, you see, though they have reasonably bad service of internet connection, they are the cheapest internet service provider in Malaysia and they offer the best and widest coverage for fixed lines, and in my opinion, that surpasses any wireless technology to date.
The issue is, that TM has become very much complacent because they are able to offer the "cheapest" service to end customers and they neglect to further expand their market to better improve their service and support.
In countries like Singapore and Indonesia and Hong Kong and Thailand, our neighbours essentially, a 10MB line or even higher bandwidth line is fast becoming the norm because of its wide availability and relative pricing scheme.
I do hope that with the woes im facing currently with the Excruciatingly slow speeds, it will be resolved with my upcoming investment. :)

Chickens and Eggs

I don't know how many have heard of the Chicken and the Egg story and honestly i don't even know how it became to be such a popular anecdote. It starts with, "Which came 1st, the Chicken or the Egg?"

This question, basic as it may seem, is actually a very defining question as it covers, philosophy, religion, science, and psychology as is covers all the grounds for the basis of human understanding.

In philosophy and psychology, it can define a person on how they would reply which of the 2 came 1st. There are 2 types of answers to this question, if you answer one of the other and get not essence of significant rational behind it, or you answer with a rationality which could be plausible but not confirmed. In both answers though, there lie a common ground, the answers all come back to Faith or Belief in something.

Which now brings me to religion. Religion is a system of belief in a higher power or set of rules that guide our way of life. with the many religions out there, the religions of the book; Islam, Christianity and Judaism believe in monotheism which is the belief of a Supreme being. What this has to do with the chicken and egg is,

In scripture, it is written that God created man in his own image. and all the beasts and the land and the sea. Therefore the answer to which came first is irrelevant as God created them simultaneously.

In Science however, the dominant theory that applies is Darwin's Theory of Evolution. in his theory of evolution, he mentions that we are all evolutions of a primitive being evolved into supreme beings. Again what has it got to do with the chicken and egg?

If the chicken came 1st, where did it hatch from, if the egg came 1st how did it get laid?

This is the most crucial answer however in my humble opinion, is that the egg came first.

My interpretations on which the answer was concluded is:

God Created man in his own image, and then he created the beasts, creatures, plants and land. God's measure of time is infinite, therefore by the time he had created man, the process would have taken several lifetimes over and we as primitive beings would understand that length of time to me unmeasurable. By that logic, Gods creation of man would look like an evolutionary cycle that Darwin has proposed.
Now chickens weren't the only beings which laid eggs, there were other primitive reptiles that also laid eggs long before the "birds" came into existance, and "Birds" and still said to be an evolution of ancient reptiles. Therefore the egg came 1st and a chicken is a form of evolution.

this answer could answer Darwin's theory, Religion and Philosophy in a profound manner or in a utter ridiculous rant. You be the judge. Its only an opinion from a small soul here in Malaysia. :)

Sultans of Swing - Dire Straights

You get a shiver in the dark
Its been raining in the park but meantime
South of the river you stop and you hold everything
A band is blowing dixie double four time
You feel all right when you hear that music ring

You step inside but you don't see too many faces
Coming in out of the rain to hear the jazz go down
Too much competition too many other places
But not too many horns can make that sound
Way on down-south way on down-south London town

You check out Guitar George he knows all the chords
Mind hes strictly rhythm he doesn't want to make it cry or sing
And an old guitar is all he can afford
When he gets up under the lights to play his thing

And harry doesn't mind if he doesn't make the scene
Hes got a daytime job hes doing alright
He can play honky-tonk just like anything
Saving it up for Friday night
With the sultans with the sultans of swing

And a crowd of young boys they're fooling around in the corner
Drunk and dressed in their best brown baggies and their platform soles
They don't give a damn about any trumpet playing band
It ain't what they call rock and roll
And the sultans played creole

And then the man he steps right up to the microphone
And says at last just as the time bell rings
thank you goodnight now its time to go home
And he makes it fast with one more thing
we are the sultans of swing

Friends of New and of Old

How do you classify a friend?

- Someone who is always there?
- Someone who listens when you need it?
- Someone who shares your Joys and Pains?
- Someone who wants to always be a helping hand?
- Someone who helps you in time of trials?
- Someone who sits by your side for companionship?
- Someone who assists you selflessly?

if these are the qualifications of a friend, what are the 'friends' who:

- Is around but never have time?
- Is around but have their own problems?
- Is around but surrounded by sadness and misery?
- Is around but has other priorities?
- Is away but calls/texts/emails you regularly?
- Is with you but unfocused?
- Is around but no activities abound?
- Is trying to be there by not being there?

there is a saying, "A Friend in Need, is a Friend Indeed" it is not a good one in my opinion as i look at friendship as having more that someone in need, but rather than having someone who can be counted upon and vice-versa when necessary.

I look at my:
-Childhood Friends
-Primary School Friends
-Secondary School Friends
-Tuition Friends,
-Catechism Friends,
-Prefectorial Friends,
-Best Friends,
-College Friends,
-Work Friends,
-Random Friends,
-Neighbourhood Friends,
-Mamak Friends,
-Bar Friends,
-Pub Friends,
-Teh Tarik Friends
-Midnight Friend,
-Midday Friends,
-Street Friends,
-Church Friends,
-Youth Friends,
-Society Friends,
-Delinquent Friends,
-Girl/Boy Friends,
-Family Friends,
-New Friends,
-Old Friends,
-Acquaintances.

They have all been there for me at 1 time or another, but who among them can i count to be there and can i always spare time to be with at the different stages in my life?
I do hope that i can always have a connection to each and everyone of them, but what does reality hold for anyone...

There is a saying, that True Friends are Few, i hope that this is not a reality as i would love to have many good friends as this would make life richer and meaningful. But misers cant be pickers and if few friends remain good friends, so be it.

What/who do you consider a friend?

Long weekend, and it's not over

It has really been a long weekend within the span of night of 28th August right up to midnight 31st August 2009. I have crossed lands to Negeri Sembilan, Wilayah Perseketuan, Selangor, Perak, Kedah, Perlis, Langkawi, P. Pinang, Danuk (thai border after kayu hitam) and back just in this time.

Thats a load of travelling man! and it was GREAT fun!

I'm fortunate to have had Eric and Dheeraj to follow my mom and myself for this trip as they definitely helped me in the form of driving all the way up north and back and it definitely made our backs better for not straining ourselves excessively.

Then there was the Glorious Food.
Amazing penang and thailand was when it comes to the food, i have never expected to have great food at a fraction of the cost that KL would have offered and for the fullness of flavour that penang and Thailand has to offer.

Traditional Massage,
Thailand is THE place where massages are amazing, we throughly enjoyed our massages at Danuk where after a long drive and stuff, we managed to relax for a stint.

Then there was Booze,
Langkawi is still amazing when it comes to drinks and still decent to hit back chenang beach with a couple of drinks in hand with good company.
We were greeted by my mothers friend and my other friend to just have a superb night there and then followed by a retreat back the next morning to Kuala Perlis.

after returning we were stuck at a massive traffic jam from Gopeng right up to home, but we still made it is beautiful time, and hit the sack before the morning was over.

Cmg weekend, Singapore :)
following weekend, Kampung Pandan/Melaka...
What a month :P
