The Malaysian Minute

I have been coming around to get to this point about the Malaysian Minute. What is the Malaysian Minute you might ask, and here is the answer.

the minute is a measurement of time that contains elements of seconds on which 60 seconds form a minute. the measurement of the second, minute, hour, day, week, month, year, decade, century and millenium has been distinct for at least 2 millenia. but in the small country in the South East of Asia, lies Malaysia.

in Malaysia it is a fact that we the people can almost certainly never keep time, be it for a meeting, dinner or even in an emergency. Heck i know ppl who were late on their own wedding day.

another fact to consider is we are not a courteous bunch, we have the staple "On the Way", "Traffic Light" and "2 Minutes" which brings me back to my point of the ever wonderful and versatile Malaysian Minute.

the malaysian minute has defied the age old measurement on which the theory stands that a single minute described by a malaysian when a meeting is going to take place, can be stretched all the way up to 45minutes till an hour and half.

just think about it!

when someone somewhere says give me 2 minutes to meet you, please ask them to be considerate and if they are following the age old minute or the Malaysian Minute! :-)

All I Want for....

Thinking what has happened to me in the past 6 months, i have been thinking what would be the best thing to console myself after a long and tiring year would be having presents or the like from the people that i know. **Hint Hint**

the top ten things that i am looking at are not necessarily expensive, but mostly just out of reach for my very unusual spending behaviour...

Number 10

A KVM 4port Switch.

a KVM Switch is a device to connect multiple computer systems to a single set of Keyboard, Monitor and Mouse, therefore the name KVM(Keyboard, Video, Mouse). it isn't necessary for me to have the latest which is a KVMS (sound included) as i would like my audio device to remain to a single unit when i conduct my tasks.
Whilst there are newer KVM's around which support USB Connectivity and such, i would just like an old simple switch with VGA connectivity and PS/2 ports for the keyboard and mouse (With Cables).

Number 9

PSP Slim and Lite (Silver or Red Edition)

the PSP or Play Station Portable which was released by Sony is a real powerhouse full of technology which would be an added welcome to my doorstep.
the features which can compliment my lifestyle such as image viewer, music player, MP4 video support, the main element of Gaming and not to mention the expandability to Wifi and MSPD. wicked isn't it.
with having this powerhouse, i will have no need for devices such as Ipods or the such. :)

Number 8

2 Terabyte Hard Disk Drive

A Terabyte is equavalent to 1000 Gigabytes of information which i would actually need as per previous post to store all my active television shows and movies. this is really turning out to be a lot of work though, but in the end, of course its all well worth the effort.

Number 7

Sarotech abigs DVP-570S

This Sarotech casing is actually the perfect partner for the number 8 Product. Its an Enclosure for a Hard Disk Drive which can be used to connect to televisions, monitors, projectors and the like to watch all my movies, series and play all my music. by having a large enough Hard Disk Drive, it will enable me to store EVERYTHING i have and more in the near future to have a truly next generation portable Media player.

Number 6

Mac Mini with SuperDrive
The next on the list would be the ever popular Mac Mini which runs on the latest Mac OSX 10.5 Leopard. This mini-Powerhouse is the latest marvel in the Mac Computing household that uses the concept of BYOKVM (Bring your own Keyboard, Video and Mouse).
What makes this unit really Amazing is that it is tiny and furthermore it runs on the MAC OSX.
by intergrating this unit with the current KVM Switch in Number 10, it would extend the computing i have at home to another whole new level. :)

Number 5

Asus eeeBox
Ever heard of the OLPC Project, its the "One Laptop Per Child" project which was to enable everyone to have a relatively cheap computer without having to sacrifice day-to-day activities in mind. With that in mind, Asus Launched the eeePc which was a mini laptop computer with a 7" screen and wireless connectivity. This product is now known as a Netbook as its uses are mainly to use the internet and a little more only.
Soon after Asus further challenged the Market with another Love or or Hate it system known as the eeeBox, which is a desktop version of the eeePc.
it shares the same concepts as the Mac Mini where it is a BYOKVM system.
Best thing about this system is that it is RM1099 for the version with WinXPHome.

Number 4

XBOX 360
The XBOX 360 is one of the most amazing consoles to date beating the PS3 with the sheer will of more game titles available. It has an amazing Graphics array and processing and a slew of amazing titles to cringe the faint hearted.
the gameplay of the games (which i have played) is brilliant beyond anything i have ever played before. a simply must have.

Number 3

Johnie Walker 15Years Aged Single Malt Whisky, 1Liter
GREEN LABEL
The essence of having a Johny Walker Single Malt Whisky is like none other, its one of the finest whiskies that i have had the priviledge of having. Honestly, im not much of a drinker, but to have this bottle and having the friends to share it with is really something that is in a class of its own.

Number 2

Go Original
Original Software is what i would love to have. having an original version of a productivity pack or sets of games are not cheap by any chance, but its really something to be recognised by your peers and setting an example that going original contributes to not stealing. here is the list of the original software that i can think of the top of my head:

Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Retail
Microsoft Office Professional Productivity pack
Nero Burning Suite 8.0
Kaspersky Internet Security 8.0
Quicktime Pro
Starcraft II (Unreleased)
Diablo III (Unreleased)
Microsoft Office for Mac 2008
Gamepack for XBOX 360
Gamepack for PSPLite
Classic Games from atari, dos, sega megadrive etc...
Heroes of Might and Magic Compedium 1-5

cout>> "hello World"

this now officiates that i officially have a blog and i will try to as frequent as ever to keep this blog updated.
the main contents that i will post here is mostly what i would imagine to be Tech Newz for the un-initiated, which would make it simpler for people to understand a little on some pieces of technology.
